While in the last few days I may have needed a mental health treatment more than ever, I indulged in the craziness of preparing to leave town instead and eschewed the apples (no pun intended, but noted). Neil and I are spending a long week in Vancouver in celebration of our 25 wonderful years of marriage. I am stoutly resolved to stay away from my umbilical mouse cord and am NOT TAKING MY COMPUTER on the trip. Call it a rest cure.

I leave the house and the dogs to the expert care of Heather and bid adieu for a bit. Apples will return in plenty of time to celebrate our anniversary on its actual day (August 14).

I like how the background strokes are linear (they look like they were painted moving away or toward the apple) whereas the apple itself seems more self-contained with its own unique style of brush stroke or strokes.
